Summary: Iranian armed forces received overwhelming amount of four types of ballistic missiles and an aerial system in a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
The missiles dubbed 'Qadar' (Extent), Giam (Uprising), Fateh (Conqueror) and Khalij-e-Fars (Persian Gulf). Also Mersad (ambush) land-to-air missile system was delivered to Aerospace Forces of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base.
"The missiles are capable of hitting and destroying enemies' targets. They can also meet various missile needs of the armed forces in different ranges," Dehghan said.
He further added that Iranian armed forces are so capable and mighty that can confront any threat across the country's borders. "The enemies of the nation are aware of the function and capability. Their threats are merely media rhetoric and for internal use."
The Iranian military official said radar-evading Qadr and Qiam missiles are capable of carrying all types of blast and raining warheads, annihilating wide-range of objectives and crossing the defense missile shield. It can be test fired from different mobile launchers and silos.
He also said Fateh and Khalig-e-Fars missiles can intercept objects completely and before hitting the targets. They target the objects meticulously and precisely.
Elsewhere regarding Mersad missile system, he said that the system is small in terms of volume but it is mobile and can be attached to country's defense circle. It can intercept and destroy enemies' crafts including ultra-speed fighter jets, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones in mid range.
According to Dehghan, the radar can work round the clock, and be established in high altitudes. It can detect, select and follow the objectives automatically. The system armed with a visible electro-optic tracker is able of conducting operations in electronic warfare environment.
